I made one with a 1 1/2 inch pipe (about 4' long for handle welded to a large 1/4 piece of steel plate when I used to do it for the cable company. Lasted me the 2 years I was there. Its heavy but it helps it go in better when throwing it down. Try going to a local welding shop and you can basically give them the idea and they could throw something together for you pretty easy.
