A trespass would depend on where on the driveway the cable was placed. Were it to be toward the end of the drive near the street, easement rights prevail. Were it to be in/on some other part of the driveway, it may very well have been a trespass issue, but disconnecting it without authorization, probably broke the law.
Cable is not a utility. Unless they were providing telephony service(not VOIP or any other type of internet related voice service) the rules are considerably different.
Regardless, Comcast has a case. Mr. Rigo has a case. The attorney's involved will be able to afford to pay their Country Club dues.
