puerto rico and paying taxes to U.S

I know they dont have federal income tax on individuals but do they get taxes from puerto rico in another way? I was just wondering because everyone over there gets social security like us. Not sure how the whole commonwealth thing plays into it. Any help on the matter would be appreciated.
