I worked General Fiber In Fairfax Co. It took 3 weeks to determine that GFC had appointed incompetent management over this project. I was hired in anticipation of turning up the customers SONET after GFC built it. It was clear within the first few weeks that GFC had not only lost their possibility for the maintenance, but may be bounced off the project at any time. I personally saw alot of potential long term revenue go right out the window. There appeared to be no professionalism from the project manager (Mike) to the customer. He showed little traits indicating experience. Quality control in certain critical areas was practically non-existent for the previous years before I arrived and this was a ticking bomb in my opinion. It comes to no surprise that GFC is going down. It would be clear to any experienced manager within a short time. GFC appeared to be a great company with the right idea, what a shame.
