Job Question

As a recent(march) retiree from SBC. Did my thirty and out. I was just wondering if an independent contractor job is for lack of a better term "worth it". Thought I could get into one of the other Bells, but that just aint happening. And I see all these temporary jobs out there, so i was thinking,,,
