Can we put a stop to the preaching?

I know after all these years that this site encourages freedom of speech but the religious debates and slamming of each other needs to stop.  We all have our own beliefs and should not be forced to participate in others if we dont choose to.  Some give us no choice.  Can we cool this issue down?
