For FDR/TDR work in the cable industry these two were designed to work TOGETHER! I use them every day; one is a transmitter for sending a signal down a strand of cable, and the other which we call the "meter" is used to visually locate the fault, and "save"or record a picture of each "shot" or test performed. This equipment is very accurate to locate faults in cable whether underground or aerial. Like I said, I use em everyday and they're great. By the way, I'm looking for TDR/FDR work in the Santa Fe, ALbq. area if anybody knows of anything. Good luck
