Private messages have been working since the site was restored yesterday. Maybe you mean the envelope icon wasn't there to click on? That could be because there was an error in the after-logon refresh script that I fixed earlier. Private messages can be accessed from the Account menu too, though, so the missing icon shouldn't stop anyone from getting there. If there's still a problem please give me a few more details.
