Re: splicing hurricane charley

Some places are paying a straight hourly rate...not very good as opposed to the past...some are paying a temporary hourly rate until they can agree on some type of decent footage price for areas that are completely devastated...as of yesterday, all they were really interested in was how many construction crews can you get in an how fast. Just a lot of overall confusion right now.

If you havent, read DFW's post in "General", that isnt even where it was hit the hardest...and it may shed some light on things.

As far as a good price...that is an individual thing...some people can work for less than others, its all in what you, as a company are able to show a profit with...if you can do it at $30-$35/hr...then that is a good price for you. If you cant...I wouldnt even mess with it...right now it isnt so much about gouging..it is about helping out and still being able to show some type of profit.

If you are planning on heading here...good luck, bring a tent, a 5 day cooler and as much ice as you can get. No motels...the ones that do have power are full from the people that live there or taken by the power companies. Probably be a couple of weeks before you can actually get in a motel...after all power is on. Nothing like camping....(army)

Good luck and SEMPER FI !!!
