Saw a new install recently where the tech put his ground strap around a PVC service conduit for a house....wish i had of had a camera with me.
Since when was PVC a conductor ?!!?!?!
And yea warfin is right, EVERYTHING should be bonded to power ground. And also watch those meter base grounding pads that install on the corner of metal hydro meter bases, those bases have no seperate grounding conductor they are bonded to the neutral inside of the enclosure! Therefore if something goes wrong, say a loose neutral on the utility side, it could actually feed back on the cable sheath to the closest ground. Not a very good situation! In my opinion the only way to do it is to ground to power ground and this is also covered in the NEC and CEC under "community antenna systems grounding means"
