i was installing for Sparks Installations and last week, I got an email telling me that we were no longer doing work for Direct Activations and that we would be be paid on time as normal. Since then, I have tried calling Sparks several times and emailed them as well, they will not reurn my calls at all, kinda strange. i got a emai ltoday and here it is :
Attention all contractors working with Sparks Installation Services as of
August 9th we are stopping all installations being completed regardless of
who the client is. Due to the ongoing issues with Direct Activations as
well as the "still ongoing" issues with DTV (finishing the Prime TV
orders) Sabrina and I are stopping all DTV installations.
The most important issue everyone wants to know about is "money" and
when are checks going out???? As of right now payments for work completed
for the following clients Comscape-Morningstar-Hollywood Satellite and
Perfect 10 will be handled in next couple of weeks. We anticipate these
clients listed above will continue to pay the money owed Sparks and its
contractors on a timely basis.
The issue of payment on Direct Activation jobs unfortunately looks like
it will take some time to work itself out, I have been told they will file
bankruptcy or they will pay in time or DTV will step in and help out. Any
of these circumstances could take some time. Due to the state of Sparks
affairs with the Prime TV fiasco we are unable to make any payments in
regards to this work at this time. Hopefully DTV will finally get off the
"@@#21 and settle the Prime TV issue and step into the Direct Activation
issue. Everyone with any outstanding work orders needs to get
these sent in immediately to insure we have a finalized amount of work
that has not been compensated for. At this stage we are prepared to do
whatever it takes to insure we are compensated for the work we have
completed and invoiced to Direct Activation..
Sorry for the current affairs at hand Sabrina and I and our entire staff
have worked extremely hard to insure everything would work for everyone
involved and to have DTV twice close the door and pull contracts from
these retailers Is just plain bull**** and we are not just rolling over
this time. Until these matters are resolved Sparks Installation Services
will be closing down, not filing bankruptcy just shutting down temporally
until we can work out the payment end of this business. We will stay in
touch both by e-mail and phone as we are leaving most phone lines open and
will be in touch with each of you within the week. DKS
i have been burned once before in this buisness and am already fearing the worst. I am not owed as much as you guys, about 1200.00 but it hurts every bit as much, as I am a single dad and it kills me to not even get a single return call. Not good business!
