Come where the temperature get very cold, like Colorado, Minnisota or part of Canada and you"ll see that even with proper fitting, when it get - 40 F, sometime the QR is not the best cable to use. And I did not talk about the power drop cause by QR cable.

1FARMER is right, we also have stopped using because it is cheaper to install P-III over QR cable, then having to add extra stand-by power supply.


One other major problem we found with QR is when technician keep droping the ladder on that cable a few time and at the same place when it is lashed on strand, the PCV always comes back to its original place (round) but the aluninum does"t and if the ladder hit the QR to often in the same area of work, we get pad section where the system get full of GOSHT becaus of bad VSWR.

In the end QR is not a bad cable, but it also has a few problem.
