After reading my last post, I wanted to clarify that our 3dB loss occurred after a DOCSIS upgrade, and not just the modulation switch. You will probably have to drop your max upstream level from 58dB to 55dB after the change to 16 QAM. Try and get everything transmitting as close to max power as possible, leaving just about 3dB of play for the AGC's. Get as far away from any noise as possible, and you should be okay. Make sure you get that return spectrum flat now, so it will not come back to bite you later.
