This tactic by Adelphia is dispicable! Remember, you are the Creditor, they are the deadbeat debtors.

And now for my common sense opinion.
You really have nothing to worry about unless they actually sue you. If they do, which I believe they will not, that should leave Adelphia open to a counter suit from you or at least a set off with the rest of the money still owed to you but never paid.
This sounds like an old collection tactic based on intimidation and bluff. It is a dirty trick. They are probably looking for easy settlements and collections. It would be astounding if they actually went through with litigation.
My advice, sit tight and let them make the next move and in the meantime, line up a board certified specialists bankruptcy/creditor's rights attorney.
