The best wey to make money off Mastec this year is not pulling strand or splicing. The best way to make money is to short their stock. Their last conference call revealed severe structual and operational problems, along with accounting issues. 7 class action lawsuits have been filed this week. They have not made any profit all through the rebuilding boom. I think they are heading towards BK. The wall streeters have really changed this business. Sure, investor money fueled a few good years (great rates) but at a high price. Everything is managed towards quarterly profits, which has apparently led to fudging of the numbers (accidentaly or on purpose). I hope for the sake of the people in the field that I am wrong.
