Would anyone hire a new-to-sweep guy to learn?

Hey all,

I have been splicing for about 8 years now and I excel and love troubleshooting. From talking and working with seasoned sweep techs - I am told I would be an excellent candidate to take the next step. I have a bucket and ALL tools including a recently purchased sda5000, and I am very familiar with using it for tilt, scan, reverse alignment and storing location's readings. As well as downloading and printing files on the 'puter.

I plan on attending the May classes that Acterna has for sweep training.

My question is: Are there contractors out there that would hire me after I am trained? Now, I am not talking an EOL taker (although I would gladly take the crap work and pick up the EOL's while in a "training" period).

I am an honest, hard working individual (with a tapper/helper) and I have and leave EXCELLENT references. I am always a top producer on every project...

Thanks in advance for your opinions,

Vic
you need to have enough wisdom to keep from making the wrong decisions but enough courage to make the right ones
