Turner Networks to Go Black on DISH Network?
Increasing chatter concerning EchoStar and its future shut-off of Turner Broadcasting System's networks (such as CNN, TBS, TNT, etc.) swarmed throughout forums, chat rooms and DBS circles yesterday.
According to reports, the provider has yet to renegotiate its contract with Turner and could bar its subscribers from receiving the networks starting Monday, April 12.
First reported by CableFax Daily, the two companies are still negotiating, but the networks could go black. Sources said that the upcoming episode of "Charlie Chat," the DISH Network-produced TV installment starring the company's CEO Charles W. Ergen, will reveal information on the Turner switch off.
EchoStar declined to comment on the issue and calls to Turner went unanswered. Stay tuned to SkyREPORT for more information and news as it breaks.
