In the past utilizing both ExFO and GN-Nettest OTDRs side by side, there was once a glitch with a command that would result in the unit to freeeze up. To make a long story even longer......HA not really, I had the unit's OS software reloaded and everything worked fine since.
I recommend that you contact the engineering support group from the manufacturer and articulate all of the details in their respective order to the tech. Don't forget that you'll need the precise model and serial number of your unit. He/She may be trying to duplicate the situation with you in real time, so it would be smart to have the unit in question right beside you and fully charged. You may want to have a launch cable too with you just in case.
