I'm designing an IP network for Video on Demand which will be integrated into an existing Digital TV network which will soon be offering Interactive services (Internet access etc).
I'm concerned about the risk of consumers hacking into the HFC network either by the Set Top Box or using a PC and effectively spoofing a STB. After which they could launch denial of service attacks and more on the VOD equipment. And I was wondering if anybody has had any experience in protecting their networks from this type of attack.
I'm from an IP routing, firewalls, Internet etc etc background, so any advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
