I would highly suggest you visit your local Small Business Development Corp, SBDC.. they will help you determine license issues, taxes, etc... they will advise you to do a business plan, whcih sounds complicated, but really makes you look at all costs and options. Best of all, it's free.

In addition, look into incorporating, so that you limit your liability. It's much less than 1k when done from a websource, but well worth keeping your home and car separate from your business, should some homeowner decide to sue you.
