It's not that the primes are getting paid good at all. In fact they are getting paid bad pricing. Or should I say the primes are excepting bad pricing. The more contractor primes continue to except lower rates it will kill the industry. If primes don't except the lower pricing then some hot shot with his five best friends that say they been doing cable for years pay off the installation supervisor and they then have a primary contract. It happens everyday.The big misconception of contractors working for Primes is that the owners/prime contractor are making a killing. You'll be surprised how much profit a prime actually makes. Unfortunately the price cut is passed on to the contractor working for the prime. Comcast knows they have stupid contractors doing shotty half-ass work, but the way they look at is if corporate sees that the customer base is increasing in that area then the contractors must be doing a great job. Never do they once realize that the system is becoming **** and thier customer base is slipping to the competition. Who cares says the local management. As long as corporate stays in the wind and the installation supervisor,VP of operations,and the general managers continue to get thier ends they don't give a **** how bad the system is becoming. It's truely a shame,but until Comcast and other major MSO's weed out the wanna get rich quick mutha ****ers then the industry will continue to fail. I wish the best of luck to you. Let's face the truth even with the bad pricing were getting it still beats working at McDonalds.
