Cut throat rates will result in "high quality work" in the sat business, huh? What a coincidence, same thing is happening in cable. Pay the first time, or pay later. They will wake up eventually. The question is, will it be to late? Sad state of affairs we have been forced to deal with. Someone mentioned the telephone guy's have the common belief that anyone can do cable work. It is regrettable that the management of most companies in our industry think along the same line's. Remember July 01, 1990? This was the date all "off set frequency's," and leakage would be in compliance per the FCC, or else they they would bust ass. All bark, no bite. How about the legislation of 1992? Ditto. This really pissed them off. The Communications Act of 1996 was the straw that broke the camel's back. There were some very interesting guide lines set for the cable companies to follow in what the qualifications were for entry level position's to engineer's. TCI basically turned their back's to them, droped their draw's, and mooned them. They knew what they could get away with. How would thing's be, if the FCC had enforced their rule's? Would the companies have the personel to offer the best service, with a multitude of happy customer's? Sho nuff feels good to vent, but gotta get to work. It will be 3 degree's in this beautiful Mid West city. Gotta make my chump change before it get's hot.
