Picture attachments can now be any size and in many different formats, including Windows bitmaps (BMP), icons (ICO), and metafiles (EMF, WMF) in addition to the usual GIF, JPEG, and PNG.
Pictures that are not in one of the Web-compatible formats (GIF, JPG, PNG) will be converted to JPG format. Pictures over 600x600 pixels will be proportionally reduced in size to fit within that limit.
Hopefully this eliminates all of the problems with pictures not showing up if too big or not in the correct format.
