The first rule of a successful cable contractor is to take care of your customer. We are in the service industry and in the difficult position of keeping :the prime happy, the mso happy and the customers at home happy.
There is so much greed and envy in this business, honesty is the exception not the rule. When I first started I had ambitions of changing the appearance of the industry from tatoos , long hair, and drugs; to more socially acceptable standards. Instead, I have slowly embraced the culture of cable (if you will) realizing that our industry is unique in that you dont have to be educated (One of the best linemen I know can barely read) or drug-free ( I ve heard some say they work better stoned) to be successful. sorry for the rant
You should include a whole chapter on the proper ethics , morals, and etiqutte of an independent contractor and maybe some sample invoices.
