Re: Ghost Cancillation

Sir,

If you are looking for a Vector, try to call Cliff Stage (ex-Philips) who is with Genesis. His number is (315) 699-6981. He can get just about any of Philips/Magnavox old product line.

As for using the Vector, well, first you need to confirm that the station that you are attempting to "de-ghost" has a specific piece of equipment installed at their end. It must insert a signal in the VITS portion of the video being transmitted. If this station does not have it, the Vector is useless. Most television stations should have it.

I actually have a Vector manual, but will need to look for it, and won't have access to it for a few more weeks. Possibly Cliff can supply one.

As for the electrical interference, well, that is another issue. Possibly you are getting some off-air AC static that should only be seen in the CATV off-air channels via antenna. As I do not know your situation there, just confirm that your tower antennas are not looking down the barrel of some high-voltage lines or insulators. I remember many years ago in California, Southern California Edison would have to spray their insulators (clean them) with de-ionized water to eliminate this problem due to the severe dry and dirty environment. Well, good luck!
