I was in similar situation five years ago. The company I was hired in to is a small phone company who wanted to get into video and replace some of their twisted pair with HFC. First thing I learned was: Get a good engineer and then question them on everything twice! Also, if you are a small to mid-sized company, get hooked up with the National Cable TV Co-Op. They'll get you competetive pricing on programming, hardware, etc. Good luck!
