Spectrum analyzer is best.......But SDA works great in Spectrum analyzer mode with dwell time set at 3ms or higer.......I have personally chased miles of ingress and impulse noise this way. You just have to experiment a little. It's great because you can T/S alone, and It's also better because you can put your meter on certian legs of an amp isolating the others and you don't have to listen to people like Pickrell in the headend sending you on a wild goose chase because there is so much noise they cant Isolate it.
