BUT, it is as good or better then the HP 8591C for CLI Mitigation doing a quarterback in the HeadEnd or OTN? No, I do not think so. (Just my opinion)
Is the SDA 5000 better for tracking Ingree/Egree in the field? Yes, UNLESS, a person sets up like I did the HP 8591C in a VAN off the Fiber Node and runs a team of techs from there.
I have used the SDA 5000 in this same situation and it did do GREAT!
But the SDA 5000 Spectrum Analyzer just does not have the quick sweep rate response that the HP 8591C has.
And yes, when I do CLI mitigation or am tracking a leak I sometimes use a low powered handheld CB to track.
