Re: working overseas

this is one of the emails i received from them:
Thank you for your input. The response to our ad (this was our first)
was overwhelming. We opened application early as a test of our new
system to help us detect and solve any problems (we found a bunch). We
used cabl.com prior to releasing ads in the traditional locations
because we only expected a handful of responses. We received hundreds of
applications. Unfortunately, we also received nonstop telephone calls
that brought normal business to a virtual halt. For the first few hours
we tried to keep up & then I put a stop to it. I'm sure if you call
again next week you will have a better chance of getting a "live
person". We also received a deluge of emails demanding we release
information ranging from who our customer is to what our hat size is. We
are currently gearing up to prescreen what we expect to be in excess of
15,000 applications in a 10 week time span. We can not afford to spend
time with applicants in the prescreening process. Our company only gets
paid when an applicant becomes an employee and actually signs an
employment contract. We will spend our limited time on "post-screening"
prospects. I hope you can understand. We will not release information
prior to prescreening. Would anyone go overseas without detailed
information on the company they work for? Would they go without a
contract? We are not "hiring" people online. We are asking if they want
to apply. If you feel uncomfortable or you think we are a ghost company
or some type of con, protect yourself and do not apply. By mid January
enough people will be placed that you will probably know someone that
can give you the "low down" on the entire operation. Based on their
actual experience you could apply then if you were comfortable in doing
so. We expect to place people thru the end of March, 2004. One last
note, your email is the only "demand for info" I have actually answered.
You were the only person to ask for the information in a civilized and
somewhat professional manor. I felt you deserved a reply.

O also received another one stating everyone who applied would know something by the 28th via email. even if they received an error at the end of the application process as my hubby did.
