It all depends on who your manager is. MasTec (as with ANY company) has it's good and bad people. Hell, they're HUGE - what would you expect?
I know noone asked for this, but I feel obligated to give my two cents here:
Back up your work
-I have virtually every map I have ever worked off of... stacksof files... every invoice, map, daily, spec sheet , contract, etc.
Work orders and specs in writing
-I almost always require this with a person that I do not know(not company...PERSON)
Remember that this is a BUISINESS
-You (well most) are a contractor providing a service to the company you are working for
Do your work right the first time
-do it right or do it over... period
With that being said, there are bad managers everywhere. If you do your job right, back it up, and still have a problem getting paid... start working up the corporate ladder. Mechanic's liens work WONDERS!
Just remember to keep a professional attitude when resolving your disputes... what is it... you catch more flys with honey??
