it seems in both industries over the past few years the main companies like comcast or dtv want the contractors to do more for less. when i first became a phone tech 4 years ago you got paid for everything you touched you got 75 for the install 20 to replace a drop 15 to feed a new line to splitter 6.00 to change splitter and fittings. nowadays the drop is included you get nothing for the splitter and fittings so noone touches them and yet somehow your responsible for everything in the house. like if you go do a phone a/o and you just run a line to the d marc. but if someone hacked the original install you have to fix it or else youll get backcharged. its rediculous doing more for less is what it has come down to
