To add to what Joe50 said, attenuation on coax is frequency dependent. Attenuation doubles as frequency quadruples. this is the rule of thumb. I suggest you look up the loss at high system frequency for the coax type (s) you are using and use as a reference when working in the field to determine if you have excess loss.(smokin)
