Well, I don't kow what the cost of living is there but, it sounds like a fairly good pay rate. I was an in house fiber optic technician for Time Warner and i wasn't making that kinda money with 7 years experience and 3 levels of certification from NCTI. If you have medical and some type of retirement and this is your first job out of the military( I am assuming your age at mid 20's) I would stick with it for a while because the exposure to this industry is invaluable and will lead you down the path to a high paying technical job of your choice.
