This is a 1-man operation using a Reigl Laser Tape. Simply align your laser with the back of the pole and target the next pole. If you start at the front of the pole your measurement will be short by the depth of the pole. When shooting the pole in scan funtion you want to use the shortest measurement once your certain you have targeted the pole due to the fact that you will pick up the sides of the pole. The Reigle tape is accurate to 5cm @ 600' I posted a link to their website on a previous reply. A Bushnell rangefinder utilizes the same process but measurements are in yards so you have to shoot the bottom of the pole and the top of the pole to accuratly calculate the distance to within 1' - 2' accuracy. Then obviously you need to multiply your measurement by three. The bushnell yardage pro is very useful for estimating drop lengths and new build distances. The cost between the Riegl and Bushnell is signifigant but it doesn't get any more accurate than with the Riegl.
