Advantage of the switching mode power supply the adjust them self to the drop in voltage. Most power supply will works form 90 to 40 Volts AC. You need to know the loop resistance in ohms of the cable your are using. The bigger the cable less DC loop it will have.
750 cable will have 0.75 Ohms/1000 ft
625 cable will have 1.10 Ohms/1000 ft
500 cable will have 1.70 Ohms/1000 ft
Above are at 68 degre F. You need to make correction on your normal operating temperature. Hotter cable will draw more.
