Watch out for the cable mafia in Houston. I’ve about had it. I just got backcharged for not having traps installed and a loose fitting. Ridiculous!! I was expecting a $1000 check and instead got $650. This was for installs I did 6 weeks ago and I know I put the traps on. Warner backcharges at will and on stuff they make up.
The thing that really gets me is the cable mafia here. There’s all sorts of talk about how the guy in charge of field ops, Claude Gerhardt, gets paid off so our company doesn’t get hassled. Only thing is guys like me get stuck and are the ones who are actually paying. He and his croneys get free trips and vacations. One of the leads from our company talked about how the owner takes the Warner guys to the strip clubs, then sets them up with a motel room and a hooker for the night. My wife would kill me. She wants us to move to Ft Worth, but sounds like it’s the same up there. Is this the way the business is? I should have stayed in the restaurant business.
