Re: moving a truck
Here's a helpful hint. Try calling some of these trucking companies that you see out there on the road every day. Our company used one a few times and did pretty good by them. Now, heres a little advice on the subject. Dont stick to the first one call, they all want a lot of money to haul stuff across country so try to barter them a little by telling them someone else will haul for less. Try that and see what happens. You never know! Another thing to do is weigh your stuff and get a scale ticket for each peice of equipment you plan to haul.(Truck or trailer) A stone dock or concrete plant should have a certified scale at a better rate than a truck stop. Besides, truck stops are a pain in the rear due to the traffic using the same scale all day. One more thing, make sure you fill out a bill of lading. You can pick one of those up at a truck stop in the stationary supplies. They have plenty of them. At last resort, ask the driver if he has a blank one. Their the same and they will suffice good enough to make your load legal to haul. When your looking for a trailer to load your stuff on, remember to tell them you need a drop deck trailer. Front loader preferably. This way you can drive right on without having to use a loading dock and it'll make sure your boom doesnt stick up higher than 13'-6". Hope that helps you out. If not this time then maybe in the future.
