Re: Incorporating ?

Excellent advice gilker1. In New York it was about the same amount to become an S-Corp. (I don't think this one still exists but there are other similar options) The key is to have a GOOD, and by that I mean one you can trust, CPA who will handle the rather painful amout of paperwork that will need to be filed. My accountant costs me about $300 / year and I have never gotten less than $4000 back after filining taxes. The real key is to keep track of all your spending and leave the company funds off to the side by themselves. You will draw a salary and as previously stated most lawsuits will not be able to get at things like your personal vehicle and home in the event of a trajedy. Just do as the CPA says and you will be better off in the long run. Take it from someone who just got out from 10 years under the thumb of the IRS, "If the accountant asks, give them the honest answer and write the checks you have to during the fiscal year."
