Both models are strong and reliable as long as they are maintained properly. However, the T40-B chain driven boom lift can be dangerous if the safety cylinder is not present. A friend of mine worked a T40-B model for years without incident but got a weaver in the gear one day and broke the chain. Since his safety cylinder was not in place, the boom crashed and it broke two vertebrea in his back.
