Re: Safety

Well, I for one, being the afore-mentioned "old timer", do not hate safety or say it's for pussies. I say it is a necessary evil so you can go home at night and work the next day. The bucket incident where the dude fell to his death was a warning that the guy had no business being in the bucket in the first place. Sorry he died but damnit, gotta be pretty clutzy to fall out of the bucket based only on the info provided in the accident report. Baskets do not all need doors, and how many that do have doors wouldn't have prevented anything anyway?

The biggest safety measure is how one thinks about safety. Safety must be on your mind 110% of the time. Accidents are inevitable. Nobody can say otherwise. Even if one is the mose care, safety conscience person will be involved in an accident, if only for the reason that it is the other person who cannot, and should not, be trusted that they will do the right thing.

I do agree a safety forum here is a long overdue section and should see some steady traffic for awhile.
