Re: Fuses Keep Blowing

Just one thought - is it possible somewhere on that run there is a RG-6 or RG-11 or such temporary that has current on it in the run.

Just to note a 300 foot RG-11 temporary compared to .500 coax would have a 10 volt drop at 90 volts and an 18 volt drop at 60 volts. Either one of these would drive the current up to provide the power for the line extender or such.... Just a thought.  Most techs only think about loss in signal, not the loss in power is all on temporaries.....

Send me you email adresss and I will send you a PDF we did for a cable 101 sessions for the local SCTE Chapters, showing this and signal loss and such across a design.....
