This is an inhouse position. We take care of all tools and equipment, trucks and lodging.
Job Description
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Hand Digging and pot holing.
* Restoration.
* Spot for Utilities.
* Loading Materials.
* Verify locates are correct.
* Assist with JSA’s and constantly being on the look out for changing conditions.
* Maintains accuracy in all reporting functions.
* Wears appropriate safety apparel and is aware of and follows all established safety practices and procedures.
* May be required to work day, evening or night hours, overtime, weekends and out-of-town assignments as required.
* Help train Laborer 1 team members.
* Attain and maintain a Valid Class A CDL License (preferred)
* Be able to move equipment and backfill.
* Be proactive about learning to read prints and drawings.
* Be proficient at equipment preventative maintenance (Greasing, Fueling, Changing basic parts)
* Operate the drill rig efficiently.
* Prepare job and drill so that the shot can be performed safely.
* Pothole all utilities that will either be paralleled or crossed during the bore shot.
* Fill water tanks with water.
* Combine water with chemicals for boring according to the ground you are drilling in.
* Locate the drill head from point A to point B without hitting any utilities at the correct depth.
* Hook up swivel, reamer, and pipe product that will be pulled back to complete the bore shot.
* Before the bore shot is started, walk out bore shot to ensure all utilities have been located and develop a plan for going above or below each utility or obstacle in the bore path.
* Pull back the product with the correct hole opener and utilize the correct mud mixture to ensure that the product makes it from point B to point A.
* Inspect and maintain job equipment.
* Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including climbing, sitting, standing, walking and driving.
* Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy spring, summer and fall weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
* Assume responsibility for work outcomes and results of other workers.
* May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated.
* When working on site, will be required to wear common protective of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats and safety vest.
