Job Description and Responsibilities :
The Technical Writer II is responsible for acting as the team lead for assigned Technical Writing staff. Iaddition to report writing duties the Technical Writer II will serve as the technical expert and provide guidance and mentoring to the team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain working knowledge of industry standards as it relates to RF/FCC compliance
Maintain working knowledge of client specific policies, technologies and report templates
Review client data such as CDs, RFDS, measurements, photos, antenna inventory, etc.
Assemble reports in accordance with client policies and approved templates
Perform Quality Assurance for assigned team members
Provide technical guidance to assigned team members
Communicate template/policy changes to assigned team members
Provide input to Production Manager for weekly/monthly KPI reporting
Provide input to Production Manager with weekly/monthly forecasting
Assist Production Manager with maintaining training documents, checklists and other job aids
Achieve daily/weekly/monthly production and quality targets as assigned by management
Requirements :
Education and/or Experience :
Bachelors Degree in a related Engineering Discipline (Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental) field, strongly preferred.
Experience:
Knowledge of wireless communications industry preferred
Minimum of 2 years writing EME reports efficiently and accurately
Certifications:
Engineer in training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification, strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Proficiency in MS Visio is a plus
Soft Skills:
Highly organized and detail oriented
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Superior time management skills; must be able to meet strict deadlines
Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgement, and solve problems
Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams
Ability to work with all levels of management and staff
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
Must be able to sit at a desk and/or work on a computer for 6-8 hours per day
May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
