Job Description
The Coax and Fiber Splicer ensures that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Troubleshooting and repair of Coax line and line equipment
•Activation of a RF line and signal
•RF interference detection
•Final certification of RF line and correct signal balance
•Splice overhead coaxial cables
•Climb utility poles and utilize truck-mounted lift buckets to complete daily construction assignments as needed
•Cut and prepare coaxial cable prior to splicing and prepare electronics
Ensure that all needed tools and equipment are available at the jobsite
•Work from engineered blueprints
•Keep track of production
•Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers when necessary
•Resolve complaints with property owners in the work area
•Complete daily production reports
•Mark-up maps, track work hours and complete "as-built maps" for areas built
•Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts
Preferred Education and Skills:
•Underground experience is a plus
