High School Diploma or equivalent
Job Description
Prepare day’s inspection and work schedule by collecting crew locations from Street Sheet and supervisor.
· Create Dailies and QC reports for invoicing.
· Ensure that contractors are working within the guidelines and specifications set forth by Comcast, Infinite Communications, Inc., City and County permits.
· Perform Quality Control Inspections to ensure that work activities meet required quality standards (such as, cables being buried to the correct depth in the right-of-ways).
· Inspect existing facilities such as cable splices, terminations, transformers, and other facilities as required.
· Observe the construction of cable splices and terminations while being performed.
· Conduct contractor site inspections for safety and proper MOT setup. Coordinate lane closure details with off-duty police.
· Check job sites for damage, and if found immediately report to supervisor.
· Respond to customer complaints and affect resolutions.
· Create internal memorandum advising the supervisor of any subcontractor’s negligence before the matter escalates to the client.
· Conduct pre-construction meetings with property managers, owners, FDOT inspectors, and Department Manager and others as required.
· Create directional bore and fiber As-builts.
· Assist crews when needed to complete the job, within reason.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· General knowledge and experienced in various phases of utility/data/cable construction and inspection.
· Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
· Proficiency using maps and location equipment in the field.
· Knowledge of work safety practices and procedures.
· Past survey or QC Inspector experience is preferred.
