Qualifications

10+ years of experience in structured cabling, fiber optic installation, residential and commercial structures. MDU green and brown field builds. Military or Commercial certifications will be accepted as substitute for field experience.

Other Requirements

Must be able to lift at least 50lbs, physically able to work miles for bid walks and audits, skilled in reporting systems/tools to communicate production and activities. Comfortable with Microsoft Applications (Office Suite). Good time management. Problem solver. Excellent communication with internal and external teams and clients.

Job Description

APSi is looking for a Field Service Manager for structured cabling and fiber optics to manage multiple commercial and residential installation and repair projects. The right candidate will report directly to the department leaders and Sr. Program Manager. He/she will be working closely with other leadership team members and review, manage, provide bid estimation, and execute projects within the telecommunications market. The ideal candidate will have experience with fiber optic structured cabling, wiring and installation. Ideal candidates will also lead teams in the field, provide reporting, photos, and close out packages for ongoing projects on a long-term contract. Individuals who fit the requirement should have the ability to communicate well with internal and external team members, explain every aspect of cabling system including pathways, space, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross and inner connections, splicing and testing. Candidates should also have the ability to understand applicable codes, standards of the industry best practice, the ability to differentiate between them and make recommendations. This role will work in environments that are similar to residential homes, MDU's and customized buildings. They should also have the ability to install wiring, read prints, as builds, and provide walk outs with bid estimations for various structures. Candidates who fit this opportunity should be professionals who are flexible, dynamic, mobile, and experienced in stakeholder management, as the role will require working on a variety of projects.

Location of position: Dallas Texas (DFW) market

Certifications/Experience: 10+ years of experience in structured cabling, fiber optic cable plant installation and residential/commercial structures industry. Military or Commercial Certifications and experience will be accepted as a substitute for commercial experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 50lbs, able to physically walk several miles for bid walks, skilled in daily reporting systems/tools that communicate activities and production, experiences and comfortable with Microsoft Applications such as Office Suite. Solid technical background and understanding of telecommunications networks. Ability to prioritize tasks with minimum guidance, and ability to solve issues internally and externally with contractors.
