Qualifications

10+ years of experience in cable TV field operations including aerial and underground cable construction practices, MDU/Commercial wiring and codes and technical knowledge for activation and repair of plant. Experience in utility and communication construction safety a plus

Source Broadband an operating company of NextEdge is currently looking for an experienced and motivated individual for our expanding coax and fiber plant construction operations in TN. The key functions of the Safety Manager will involve the enforcement of safety regulations and policy for significant high-risk activities ensuring that best safety practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, as well as improve the overall safety culture through training and corrective actions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support NextEdge’s safety program with NextEdge Operational Companies (OpCos) and subcontractors.
Work with Vice President of Safety on continuously improving safety program concerning horizontal drilling, aerial fiber installation, and other communication industry construction regulations and policy
Coordinate and implement NextEdge safety training programs in coordination with office managers
Perform safety audits in the field and at warehouse facilities, including equipment, vehicle, and PPE inspections
Investigate and report company related incidents (injury, property, vehicle, crimes, etc.) in a timely manner for NextEdge HR and Legal departments
Conduct weekly team meetings with emphasis on safety and continuous improvement
Ensure safe operations of company equipment, such as directional boring machines and aerial bucket trucks
Ensure safe operations of company and employee tools
Oversee the safety of complex underground and aerial construction operations ensuring OSHA compliance
Attend Safety department and management meetings, training workshops, and daily activity briefings
Provide guidance and additional safety training related to incidents and safety audit corrective actions
Continually encourage and promote Safety initiatives aimed at influencing positive safety behavior on all projects
