Saw a variation on that one at a major resort twenty years ago!
Desk clerk give room key to bag guy. Bag guy opens the room, windows, bathroom etc and puts his hand behind the TV...disco cable. He then "test" the TV and surprise. surprise no pic. So the bag guy calls the in house TV guy who comes to attach the cable and grab whatever is in plain sight.
The chain mgmt. caught the guy and had him arrested him while we were there. I just connected the cable and was suspicous when the guy wanted to come in and test it anyway.
Every one knows all cable guys are crooks!
