It is not the weight of the items you are carrying but the weight rating of that trailer so if it is rated for 14,000 lbs and it is empty it counts as 14,000 lbs! Got burned by that one when i had a trencher chain on a trailer and the trailer was rated for 24,000 lbs and i was pulling it with a 3/4 ton pickup (only trailer available at the time) so i was way over the 26,000 lb for a CDL liscense. Got a healty ticket for it and learned an expensive lesson that day!
Be careful out there driving them roads!!!
