on the first reading it would be 24, add 20 to whatever you're reading. So w/an 8 pd on the input that is hitting the first chip at 16 which is ok.  The second one you're correct but is the math works out on the input levels you should have a 0 pad.  I'm guessing you have a problem if there is a 12 pad in there now unless it wasn't set up right to begin with.  What are the levels on your low carrier and you high carrier.  Are they analog or digital signals?
